Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where are you located?

A: Our office is located in Melbourne's inner suburb of North Melbourne. Our primary Warehouse is located in New South Wales. We have various suppliers around the country, from where our orders are usually sent direct to the customer. This cuts down on many of the costs usually involved in this industry and is one of the ways we can bring you such low prices. The down side to this is that we don't keep any stock at our office so pickups usually cannot be arranged. Please accept our apologies but delivery is usually very fast and inexpensive!

Q: What payment methods to you accept?

A: Bank Deposit: We prefer bank deposit payments, from internet or phone banking. You can also pay by deposit over the counter at any St. George bank branch. Bank deposit is fast, reliable, and 100% safe. Payment in full is required before any goods are shipped. We thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Cheque/Money order: We accept BUSINESS CHEQUES and money orders but please understand that it will take longer to process your order due to time taken to clear funds etc. We also highly recommend when posting a cheque or money order that you use registered mail as we cannot be held responsible for loses in the postal system.

Credit Card: You can pay with your credit card, either over our ENCRYPTED online connection or over the phone. A small percentage (varies for each credit card company) will be applied for credit card payments.

Gift Certificate: You can pay for your order with a gift certificate purchased from this store. To buy a gift certificate for somebody, please see "Buy Gift Certificate" on the right hand column of the page.

Alternatively, to use a pre-purchased Gift Certificate to order something on www.AUSTechExpress.com simply select "Redeem Gift Certificate" on the right hand side of the site.

Q: How long does delivery take?

A: If the goods you are after are in stock at the time of purchase, delivery is usually only 1-5 business days. If you haven't received your order by the 5th business day please let us know. If you require an item urgently or by a certain date, please enquire by email to ORDERS@AUSTechExpress.com before purchase, just to make sure we have it in stock for you.

Q: What happens if nobody is present when the couriers attempt delivery?

A: If the couriers attempt delivery and nobody is available to sign for it, they will leave you a note with a phone number to call to arrange for re-delivery or pickup, depending on your area. They will not leave it at your local post office. It is for this reason we suggest always geting delivery to your work or other place of business where you know there will always be someone available.

Q: What happens if my goods arrive damaged (or not at all)?

A: All our deliveries are sent by INSURED COURIER which means not only is it delivered faster than the postal system, all loss or damages are covered by the courier company. This also means that all parcels can be tracked online. If your order does not turn up within a few days please contact us for tracking information. The courier companies we use are Allied Express, Australian Air Express, StarTrack Express and Couriers Please, depending on your location and package size.

Q: Do I get a tax invoice with my purchase?

A: All of our sales are accompanied by a fully compliant Australian Tax Invoice, which can be used for any purpose, for example business expenses or for claiming back GST if going overseas within 30 days of purchase.

Q: Who can buy and use the "Educational" version of a software product?

A: The only restriction on an Educational product is that you don't use it for business purposes. If you are a student, teacher or simply for private use at your home, you can buy the Educational edition and save yourself a few dollars.

Q: Some shops or manufacturers are offering cash-back offers on a camera or other product I am interested in purchasing. Does AUS Tech Express have the same cash-back offer in place?

A: Most cash-back schemes are done direct through the manufacturer so YES, goods purchased from us are eligible for most current cash back offers. Please enquire before purchase though, just to make sure! Usually the procedure is to purchase through us, then follow the instructions provided to claim your cash back.
